filtering color for grays

Since it's the holidays, and I've just recently reached 2000+ friends-of (and probably also because I'm weird), I got to thinking how it'd be nice if we knew each other more, even if it's a wee bit. I know a lot of you by name, because I read and cherish all your comments to me or I see your names around the LJ communities...but then I've come to realize that beyond that, I'm probably just a person behind the screen providing graphics and you on the other side of the screen making great use of them (in which I'm very thankful for). So...my strange brain decided to do a very random meme (sorry to those who may be disappointed in this not being graphics). ^^;

Here's how it'll go. If you're interested in participating, comment with something about you- this can be anything from "I like cheese" to something more lengthy that you don't mind sharing with me, whether it's how you feel about something or a fact about yourself. Then after you've shared your thought/fact, you can ask me a question. I will then add the question and my answer under a cut in this post. I should probably clarify what kinds of questions you can ask, eh? :) Honestly, anything* really as long as it's not something quite personal/private like my address, phone number, or something you think I'd be uncomfortable about sharing, etc. If you happen to ask a question that I cannot answer, I will reply to let you know that you can ask another one if you like. ^^

*Questions about my graphics are welcome as long as it's not so specific- meaning no questions like "how did you make this icon/texture?" because then that'd require a whole tutorial which won't work well in this case.

Hopefully, after this...I'll be a step closer in knowing at least a few of you. Then next time when you comment, I can think in my head- "Oh! That's the person who hates fish!" xD

I was tagged by asuki with the following instructions: Post your very first icon that you made (if you have it, if you don't, the OLDEST one that you have) along with your newest icon. This will allow you to show how you have improved in iconing skills and tag five friends to see how they have improved.

I thought it was rather interesting so I'm having a go with it. Luckily, I still have my very first icon that I made last year for use at a message board before I actually started making icons regularly. Geh, I realize that I don't like either one though I think I might like my older one a bit better. So much for improvement. xD;;

I know I'm supposed to tag people, but I realized that I have very little friends who make icons- and those that do have already been tagged I think. ^^; So intead, I'm tagging everyone and anyone who are icon makers and have this journal friended. Feel free to comment to let me know if you've participated. I love seeing how people have improved. :D

On a side note, I made some light color textures last week but haven't had the time to zip them up yet. I'll get to that soon so they should be up sometime this week! Oh and I keep forgetting to plug silvertoned, one of the communities I mod at. It's an "icon guild" for advanced icon makers so to speak. ;p
